Niagara Falls and 1000Islands

Was kind of adventurous to find the bus stop for the trip to the Niagara falls and Toronto. On the road we of course had a lot of traffic, Jesus, our bus driver Louis was driving like crazy.. and NY’s and NJ’s streets are in a really bad condition! Driving the very long distance through Pennsylvania my bottom totally fell asleep. After a few hours of bus ride with a chinese badly english-speaking and singing tour guide, and many many loo stops (it was so many I stopped counting), our group of tourists (mainly chinese descent) had to spend 3hours at the Canadian boarder because 2 of our girls forgot their original work&travel-visas. Well after checking in to Canada twice, showing passport 4 times we finally got a really short view of the Niagara falls by night with fireworks, before they shut down the lights at midnight. I then had a princess sleep at the Universal Inn.

My new friend from New Jersy Jharna and I got our morning shower when we took our maid of the mist boat ride, well I actually didn’t get wet at all ;-)

On top of the Skylon Tower we had a wonderful stunning view above the falls and enjoyed our circling lunch.

 

Next stop was Toronto getting a short glance at the city center, going upwards the CN Tower (with it’s elephant proofed glass) after a nice boat cruise along the harbour.

After watching some handsome canadian boys jumping around with their skate boards, we headed off to Toronto’s chinatown to have our dinner…

Next stop was 1000Islands for a boat tour breakfast, then driving back to New York and saying Good bye to my new friend Jharna.

The big apple has bitten me...

I thought before being knocked over by the thousand cabs or being overwhelmed by this city’s running life style, I better start a green walk through the Central Park.

Walking upper west side, central park and upper east side after the premises of the metropolitan museum let's you feel your body, especially feet..

to all my beloved guys I missed out to say goodbye - sending you a big hug and kiss.

10kg are a fair deal. could be worse - I'm the packing queen.

just had my last day work at the hospital.
no more studying, no more fear, no more stress, no more work for the next few months! the incubus of burden of my final exams is now past.
tonight going out and doing partyyy stuff.
tomorrow I'm moving out of my mini-apartment, finally. Too many boxes that have to be carried.. *g* that means after all the stress the last few weeks I'll be packing my stuff and hoping off for my big around-the-world-traveling. heading to a new episode of life, Yeeeehaaa!!!

a friendship that lasts

What is a friend? A single soul dwelling in two bodies. Just out of the blue there comes a moment where you realise, to be blessed with the gift of friendship. It lays on the agony, your heart and soul warm up. A friend is the one who knows all about you, and still likes you.

on a long trip, perhaps photos of family, friends and loved ones are great to stave off homesickness that can hit me all at times.

+ Tip for women - many bras have little pouches inside for putting in extra padding. A far better use for these is as a money belt substitute - while you can't really put your passport in there (or at least I can't) it's great for money and small documents and feels a little more glamorous than a hot belt round your waist!

what if my dear mom wants to chat with me and I'm not currently sitting in front of my macbook/skype, or I intend to use my mobile a lot, really the best bet is to buy a local pay-as-you-go SIM card.

finally got my us, au, nz dollar and yen money, next week I'll get my new cash card.

still need a small sleeping bag and a travel adapter; my travel first aid kitt also isn't complete yet.

started the training for my riding licence. means hard work though hot weather, and meaning alot of sweat and more sore muscels. ;-)

had a wonderfull weekend in holland - amsterdam, nijmwegen, nieuwegein and weeze.

4 days of wavesurfing, western horseriding, wakeboarding, longboarding, sightseeing and of course going out celebrating and enjoying the night.

gave me a more than 3 days suffer from stiff and sore muscles ;-)

beside all the partying and being 'heel erg gezellig', there still was some time for cosiness, hot chocolate and of course ben&jerry's ice cream. yummy yummy I got love in my tummy.

looking forward for a 5th time in holland and it's nice dutch folks.
