Tears at the airport when seeing my cool cousin Astrid and Brandon, and even more waterfalls when finally hugging my aunty Karla, Reidar and smart girly Freya (she now is even taller than me hrmpf). Well, it’s been a while since we met in Europe. First there was a lot of laundry that had to be done but soon we went to the Canberra Battle of the Bands to see Reidar and his folk band.
We didn’t dress up as Halloween freaks but still looked pretty enough to conquer Canberra’s night life at Civic Centre. Starting with Ciders in one of the many Irish pubs, having good chill music and great cocktails at the Hippo bar and I finally finding myself getting engaged to an 1/2 aussie & 1/2 kiwi guy. At home Brandon would offer us to taste some of his different liquors.
Of course we slept in after this long party night and Freya was so cute to make us a lovely ham and scrambled eggs breakfast. Later on we drove out to the countryside to have a picnic with the family.
Astrid had invited some friends, Karla and Reidar brought some banana cake and chipis, and there we sat in the living room, excited like little kiddies playing games on the Wii play station. Telling the boys about our next day at the girly spa, Jack would answer ‘that sounds like fun’. He then had to undergo a Hair styling by having his curly hair straightened. He really looked different and handsome, I could tell. ;-)
Before taking a bus to Sydney, we girls, Freya, Maike and I went to the Roden Mall to have pedicures and hair cuts. Enjoying my last hours with my family at lunch and waving good bye with some more tears, already missing my Canberrans.
